Pre-op done, surgery on 1/31

Well pre-op is done. After discussing it with my doctor, we decided to do a daVinci hysterectomy with the intention of leaving both ovaries but one may have to come out due to all the pain I've had there. I did my pre-admission testing, I have a very nifty blood typing bracelet to wear I got a surprise with my insurance requiring a $250 copay AND 20% co-insurance and the wonderful hospital requesting 50% down. YEAH RIGHT??!?!!??!??! I'll be calling them first thing tomorrow to arrange payments. I'm calm, well after my BP went down after the 20% disclosure. LOL I'm doing good, no bowel prep, no weird diet. I'm at peace, I'm ready to begin the next chapter of life. NO PAIN, no scheduling around FLO, nothing to stop me from enjoying my life.

Re: Pre-op done, surgery on 1/31

Hi there!

Sounds like you have everything under control (despite the bad news about insurance coverage -- gotta love it, right? As if it's not hard enough to go through all this in the first place, right?)

You have lots and lots of us on the sidelines wishing you well as you approach the castle. Keep us posted on how things go for you!

I have the same date too. Best wishes and hopes that all goes well.

I'm calling my insurance co. tomorrow to make sure the pre-auth is going thru ok...don't feel like getting a surprise on Monday (when I will most definitely NOT be in the mood for it)
