Took my morning mini walk today - sun is shining again here at last. About four minutes in I got this wave of lightheadedness. So dizzy. And tired. It was hard to get home. I had to hang on to a shrub and take a deep breath. Some morning dog walkers looked at me like I was an early drunk. Feeling better now that I'm sitting and with a glass of water. Am I just overdoing it? Or should I call my doctor? Thanks for any advice.

Re: dizzy!

You are still very early in your recovery. Your walks should be short and gentle right now. My guess is that you just tried to do a little too much too early. If it happens again you might want to check with your doctor.

I was not able to take walks of any distance till I was almost 4 weeks post op and that was very slow with someone beside me at all times!

Re: dizzy!

You might be overdoing it a bit. I was experiencing dizzy spells during my 3rd and 4th week and occurred in the afternoons or after a few hours at work. Since I started working full time this week just being tired and achy but I've improved with no more dizzyness. Take it easy and go slow. You've got a ways to go yet. My walks started out slow and close to home then gradually did more.

Re: dizzy!

I haven't dared to venture any further than the house on my walks. I stay inside and go around the living room/kitchen/dining room loop if the weather is bad. If it is nice, I go outside on the deck, but no farther than that. I have my phone with me if hubby is not right there if something happens. Yes, I'm an over-cautious chicken at times, but this is not something I want to take chances with.
