Re: hospital must haves

For home.. a netflix streaming account or plenty of dvds, daytime TV leaves a lot to be desired.

I was released from the hospital in 24 hours wore the same clothes home I arrived in.

the only think I needed was a toothbrush and toothpaste

Re: hospital must haves

You'll want a pillow to hug to your belly when you cough, laugh, or sneeze. The one you use for the seatbelt might be good, or you might want a larger one.

I ended up with two pillowpets - one regular sized one to hug, and then the peewee for the seatbelt. The peewee one unfolded is a perfect seatbelt pillow, not to mention you have a cute critter staring up at you. Great conversation pieces for the nurses & docs, too.

Re: hospital must haves

At hospital: the usual stuff you would put in overnight bag; I wore the same clothes home that I wore to the hospital; pad/pantiliner
At home: narcotic pain rx already filled; GasX;OTC ibuprofen; glycerin suppositories; Miralax powder or laxative tablets; source of extra fiber (pills for powder); stool softener; heating pad; pantiliners; rx or OTC nausea medication
You will do great.

Re: hospital must haves

OH, YES, definitely CHAPSTICK!!!! That's one of the first things I was asking for right out of recovery. Of course, I asked for morphine first.
