And if for *some* reason you don't have your bag with you, ask your nurse if you need something, they might surprise you (mine had a kit with shampoo, etc and the blessed lip balm!).
did you find the belly band helpful?

In the "search" bar, type in "hospital must haves" and you will find threads with tons of suggestions.

The only thing I really used that I brought was a good lip balm-it should be #1 on everyone's list. My lips were insanely dry and had a disgusting film over them after the surgery. I was so thankful for the lip balm. My robe was probably #2 on the list, for those hallway strolls the nurses make you take.

here they provide robes, i agree chapstick is a must, if you are bringing your cell phone or lap top. pack the chargers. as for slippers i would wear ones with rubber bottoms. you never know what you are going to step on in a hospital

Re: hospital must haves

I am a week post op and packed a huge bag for the hospital and basically didn't even open it! Too out of it to care much...lip balm and cell phone to text were basically it!

The thing i have appreciated the most since i have been home is a shower seat, borrowed from a friend. I use the hand heald shower head and have had a lovely, relaxing shower each day, which in ann orherwise pretty bland day, a highlight! You may even be able to get your doc to write a script for one...

That and some BIG cotton undies!

Be well, sister!

I agree Kimchi, I didn't open up my bag either! Was sent home the next day and was out of it until then!
