Re: How long

Depends on the type of surgery and what is being done.

Typically about 2 hours. In addition to hysterectomy, many women require other repairs and some surgeries have taken several hours. One minor complication for me was a fibroid in the way of my cervix and had to be removed first - added a 1/2 hour to my overall surgery.

Re: How long

I had Davinci total hysterectomy. They wheeled me into the OR at about 4:15pm and when I looked up at the clock in recovery it was almost 6:30pm.

Re: How long

I had LAVH with anterior/posterior repairs. Doctor expected 1 hour or so but took 2 hours. I had the complication of adenomyosis and two large growths and my small bowel prolapsed during surgery so he had to repair that too.

Re: How long

I had a TAH turned SAH with endometriosis removal. It took about 2-1/2 hours. My cervix ended up staying because it was fused to my colon. My doctor says I was a mess inside and it took a little longer than she expected to clean it up.
