Re: who has kept their cervix?

I had everything removed due to carcinoma insitu years before. I had everything removed. My Dr used my leftover ligaments to make extra support. As far as the sex life...zero complaints at all!!!
However, if nothing is wrong with yours and you are given the choice, I'd probably keep it.

Re: who has kept their cervix?

You have to do what you feel is best. I had no problems or history of cervical problems but it turned out mine was blocked with adhesions so it came out. I was worried my sex life would be affected and at 10 weeks post op I have to say sex has never been better! I kept one ovary and have never, ever felt better. Hubby and I are setting records for our new sex life. Sorry if TMI but it is liberating!! Best of luck to you!

Re: who has kept their cervix?

I kept mine based on the doctors suggestion. Was told if I was sexually active I would want to keep it.
Wonder if I would have gotten more info on the benefits if it were a female doctor ???

Re: who has kept their cervix?

Hi I am 13 weeks post
I bleed for 6-7days each month because I kept my cervix. Don't get me wrong it's nothing as it was and a panty liner does the job. It's the pain coming along with it that's hard to deal with but I may have still had that anyway.
Sex for me is also not as good. I can orgasm but eventually n not as great as it was.
Pretty much feeling I had a raw deal n wish my cervix had gone too
Take care

Re: who has kept their cervix?

I kept my cervix. All of my issues were well north of it. I have never had an abnormal pap. So far our sex life has been great post-op. I do not have mini periods, my cervix was cauterized as part of an ablation. Maybe you can ask your Dr about cauterizing your cervix if you decide to keep it. Best of luck.
