As far as the cervix supporting anything, my DR said nothing either way. In my mind, I can't see a difference. Once the cuff is healed, it should support everything just fine. I suppose you could research the occurrence of enteroceol post total hyster to get a number, but I can't imagine that it is statistically a large enough number to be of concern. If it were, I would imagine the DR's would not perform it so often or at all. These are great questions by the way.

my doctor and a few others said that the cervix is the size of a large button and that it can not hold up anything of signifigance.. They said that prolapse in general has to do with getting a hysterectomy in general.. Leaving or keeping the cervix has nothing to do with it..
