Re: Stress

I'm already on valium, I take it 3x's a day, I was told NOT to take any meds the morning of. I been trying to stay busy. Tomorrow I'm going to deep clean 2 rooms in the house, then 2 the next and then Thursday I'm going to soak in our hot tub, then come in and shower, shave and do myy toe nails.

Nice long slow breath in and out while trying to clear your mind. If possible, try to think of all the positive things in your life. I'm also eating really healthy, doing more yoga and getting in as much exercise as possible.

I find it also helps to make different lists of what I need to do before surgery and what I want to bring with me. Also, I'll be staying with my mom for a short time once I get released from the hospital and have already brought over many books and magazines that I want to read while I'm recouperating.

If all else fails, ask you doctor to prescribe some valium. I have a bottle on hand for the night before as well as the morning of, which she said was ok to take with a small sip of water.

As everyone has said, we'll be happy once it's over!

Big Hugs,

Re: Stress

My TAH is this Friday, Feb. 3. Nervous, stomach ache, sweaty palms. Exercising and a glass or 2 of wine has helped. No wine after tonight, as I'm doing my bowel cleanse tomorrow, followed by a day of the clear diet. And, oh yeah, tomorrow's my birthday. Hitting the town tonight!

I'm doing mine tomorrow too. No drinking, even though I wondered if I should have, may have calmed me down alittle. So sorry that you have to celebrate your Birthday is such manner. You and I share the same date and same TAH!

Re: Stress

Good luck tomorrow. My clear diet is annoying me, but I'm making the best of it with Margarita flavored Jello in a martini glass. 9 a.m. surgery tomorrow.

Re: Stress

I am right with ya'll. Mine is Feb. 10th and I am nervous and forgetful. One thing I did was check out the hospital floor where I would be staying. I met one of the nurses who would be taking care of me. I saw one of the rooms I would be staying in. This has helped a lot. I am trying to hold it together, but some days are better than others. It is ok to cry, since this is an important step in your life. Look forward to the positive, such as no more visits by flow, no more pads, etc. Laurie

Re: Stress

I would have never thought of going up to the hospital to check out where I will be staying. Today has been the worst, seeing how tomorrow is the day

Re: Stress

Surgery in 3 1/2 hours. Crying and rubbing my belly in the shower. I know I'll be fine...just don't like the thought of being restricted from so many things for awhile. I told my husband I'll have to give all of my bikinis away. He said, "What bikinis?"

Thinking of all of you with dates coming up. Thanks for thinking of me.
