Intestinal cramps after DVH...

I am 4 weeks post-op and so far things have been going good except when I over-do it... I can tell my body is trying to tell me something when I do and that's when I slow down...
However, there's been a constant on this recovery process... every morning right before I have a bowel movement I swear I feel my intestines moving and cramping... the pain is bad enough to stop whatever I am doing and curl up wherever I am. Is it normal? It lasts about 30-45 seconds and then it is gone and within a few minutes I have the urge to go to the bathroom...
Now, for the last two days I have had diarrhea and it is yellow... (sorry for being graphic) I feel the "runs" inside and the "noises"...
Anybody going/has gone through this?

I am sorry to hear of your issue. I remember the intestines settling time, how I would sometiimes get pain and cramping. I had a little constipation

If it continues talk to your Dr.

Re: Intestinal cramps after DVH...

I have had the same problem off and on during my recovery (surgery was December 19th). At first it happened frequently. As my recovery has progressed, it has lessened considerably and it has been awhile since I have had it occur. Hang in there; it will get better!
