Insurance approval?

I had my original hysterectomy scheduled in November. My insurance company denied it, suggesting a lap to see exactly what is going on in there.
My doctor did the lap, found severe adhesions and extensive endo. Too much damage to solve then so we scheduled another hyst. I found out this morning that they were trying to deny it yet again. This time I took matters in my own hands and called them. I threatened to call the archdiosese who we have insurance through and tell them just what kind of company the were dealing with. I then demanded to speak with her supervisor and told her in no uncertain terms that I was willing to take this all the way to the owner of the company and that then i was reporting them to the national insurance adjuster. She asked for 5 minutes and she'd call me back. By the time she called me back she had already called the doctor to ok the surgery and was whistling a whole different tune. I guess sometimes you just have to be a witch to get things done.

Oh my goodness.

It never even occurred to me that the insurance companies could be such a pain.

I'm calling mine on Monday!

My doctor thinks it will be fine, because I've already had a D&C and I can't do hormones (I have TIA's, high risk of stroke). But I want to KNOW.

Funny thing.... I've been wondering if I made the right decision to have a hysterectomy. Nerves and all. But when I think that the insurance may fight me on it, I get very upset, so I guess I've made the right decision after all!
