Date

I have an appointment on the 10th. I know that we will be discussing the when of surgery. Usually, how long does it take after the decision is made? I had to wait a year because of starting a new job.

Thank

Re: Date

My doctor and I made the decisions to do my hysterectomy in early December. However, I did not get in for sugery until January 11th. The reason for the long wait was because lots of people were getting things done before the end of the year due to insurance deductibles. Normally, it wouldn't take that long with my GYN group.

A lot will depend on your surgeon's schedule.

I had to wait about 2 months, because he was booked. He is my GYN and only does surgeries once a week.

If my condition was more serious, he would have bumped me into an earlier date.

I'm in San Antonio! I see you are in Katy!

Re: Date

I was told to expect about a month out but probably longer because I wanted to get it done at a hospital closer to home where the doc doesn't have a regular time slot for the robotics OR.

I had expected to have to wait about six weeks, but to my surprise I got a date for only 3 weeks out.

I think it can vary a lot depending upon your schedule and condition, the doc's sched., hosp schedules, possible cancellations, etc.

I hope you are able to get in around the time you want. Good luck.
