So Frustrated!!!!!

Well today I was supposed to have my hysterectomy done, but could not since my surgeon cancelled me on Monday. The pre-op doctor I saw thought I needed to have a sleep study done before I could have my surgery. Yes, I know its serious, but I had an ablation, tubal ligation and hysterscopy done in Aug and was put under and had no problems...but now someone who has never met me decides I need have this done. Yes I know most people who are overweight and snore have sleep apnea, but is not always the case. So, now my question is if I do have sleep apnea does that mean that I can never have my surgery? I am so tired of all this pain and was looking forward to my surgery. Has anyone ever have this happen and what was the outcome. I would rather talk to you guys than trying to search for answers on the web. To me its what the sisters before me have had to go through. Thanks for everything and letting me vent!

Re: So Frustrated!!!!!

Its more of a safty precaution then anything else. I knew going in that I had sleep apnea so the were aware and took whatever precautions they needed to take and surgery turned out fine.

Good luck

Re: So Frustrated!!!!!

Thanks everyone! I know its better to know than to have problems on the table. I just didn't understand , since my surgeon is the same one who did my surgery in August. But alas I will do as told and am waiting for them to schedule my study. In the meantime I have started the south beach diet today so hopefully I will be in better shape (inside wise) for when they do reschedule!
