Two personal questions

Hello gals, and Happy New Year!! I'm still at home (no back to work orders yet; had pneumonia after surgery, almost kicked the bucket!) but I have 2 personal questions maybe you can help me out with.
First, on my first post-op internal, gyn told me that my vagina is rather "tight" and asked if I had pain during intercourse. I did but always blamed it on my large fibroid. Now that that's gone, I have pain simply when he uses the clamps! I am a small framed gal, 5'2", and wonder if I'll ever be "comfortable". Doc claims there's "a way" to cure this...... any advice?
Second, does anyone feel too "close" to their gyn/surgeon? I do! I feel like I'm too dependent on him, want to carry him around in my pocket!! Silly?? I think it may be because he got me through a life threatening experience (I went code blue twice and was on a respirator for 2 weeks, knocked out cold). Feel like a hypochondriac now...... even afraid to return to work which is possible in about 2 weeks.
All my best to everyone and wishing all a speedy recovery.

Hi Chris, I too have a tiny one for now

As my doc put it, the best repair is going to leave you overly tightened at first (for several months). this includes Vagina, urethra, sphincter, whatever. if he left it loosely comfortable, then he woudn't have done a good job of repairing it. It will loosen gradually over time, but at the 6 month mark he re-evaluates and can dilate the vagina (don't ask how, I have NO clue! ) to a bit larger size. good luck!

Hi Chris,

It is common for the vagina to be a little "tighter" after surgery, and sometimes that can be just from lack of use, if you know what I mean. For some women, using a good lubricant during sex and taking things slow does the job over time. If you feel that you need some serious "loosening" there, please ask your Dr. to further explain what he would suggest to fix that.

You went through some serious complications following your surgery. I wouldn't worry about feeling too dependant on your Dr. at this point. You are barely out of the early recovery period for one thing, and that's not taking into account that you nearly "kicked the bucket". I'm so glad you DIDN'T! Remember that taking care of your health is what the Drs get paid the big $$$ for, and you shouldn't feel the least bit guilty about relying on him at this point.

Also, if you get close to your return-to-work date and find you don't feel ready to go back to work yet, please bring that up to your Dr. Believe me, it happens PLENTY with this surgery!

Keep getting loads of rest after all you've been through.

My very best to you...
