Uterine biopsy questions--had one today--complicated and painful

I had a uternine biopsy in November and could feel the little pinches, but it wasn't unbearable. I made myself relax as it began and place my focus elsewhere and am wondering if it isn't the technique used by the person doing the biopsy. Mine was a nurse practitioner and she was really trying to be gentle, talking to me as she proceeded with each step. I did not have cramps after and drove home using no medications.

nolefan: You seem to be the norm. Believe me, I've dealt with real pain before (I was shot in the eye with a bb gun and lost my eye), but this was unexpected and very painful. Even my labor breathing didn't help. Now I know it was a culmination of things--I was dialated which was painful and I didn't even have a Motrin beforehand. They couldn't get thru my cervix, so clamping it and getting thru is what hurt the most. The doctor said that due to my numerous fibroids, it was excruciating for me too. I'm glad that yours wasn't horrible for you though!!
