Re: What do you do to pass the time while recovering?

My hyster was in late October; at about week three, I went on a baking frenzy. I also became addicted to Bones in rerun. Craft projects are fun. I also helped my neighbor with some non-profit mailers.

Right now I watch alot of tv and alot of sleep. I spend alot of time on Facebook and text alot too. I was supposed to have a friend over to help keep me company while everyone was gone at work and school but that fell through. Now its me and the dog. :P

Dogs are sometimes the best company. My cats have been stuck to me like velcro since I've been home.

Re: What do you do to pass the time while recovering?

I was worried about my cats climbing in to my belly. It's like they knew not to. They never left me though.

Re: What do you do to pass the time while recovering?

NETFLIX and AMAZON streaming... watching Mad Men and various movies that I have wanted to see.

Depending on how I feel on any given day I have played a game on the Xbox (something with a controller not something I have to be up and around for) or I can be found in my sewing room, working on a project.

And in a final twist, internet job hunting. I was laid off a few months ago and would like to get back to work.

Re: What do you do to pass the time while recovering?

I slept a lot and played the new Star Wars game. I bought a new Xbox game but have not played it much. I got bored of Star Wars so I crocheted off a baby blanket and decided it was time to relearn to knit. I wanted to sit and sew (my favorite craft) but I can't bend over to pin and cut patterns so I'm outta luck there. I was tempted to send the items off to my mom to cut and pin and mail back, lmao.

I relearned to knit from a website. As an avid crocheter I never was able to feel comfortable knitting. I learned a new method holding the yarn in my left hand and now it's so much easier!! It's a great time to learn either skill.

Re: What do you do to pass the time while recovering?

Oh and even better, I am knitting squares for charity blankets as my knitting practice. It also burns off my yarn stash.

I watched 148 episodes of the old 90210 on Netflix lol. And played lots of games on my iPhone . I wish I had napped more...now (8 weeks post op) I feel the need to nap in the afternoon before I get the kids from school and I feel guilty...but I still do it lol
