irregular periods

I am scheduled for hysto on feb 14th. i know that i will feel better after surgery, but i can't keep thinking about the cause of my missed periods. i do have polyps and had very heavy, clotting cycles my whole life. i had a blood transfusion in october 2011. i missed in oct, very heavy for 3 days in nov, missed dec and jan. anyone else with similar problem? my dr really hasnt said much for the missed periods except maybe my body could be going through early menopause, but my hormone levels were fine. so what gives? my boobs are soooo sore and i am not preggo and i am also very bloated and in pain from the polyps.

Re: irregular periods

shiffee,

Missed periods can cause concern, I'd be wondering too.
Early menopause sounds like a good guess. A hormone test tells you your levels at a given point in time, a couple hours later may show something very different.

Maybe someone with experience will come along with answers.
