Re: I feel like all I do is whine

Funny thing is that after I had my 2 c sections I lived in my hubby's white Fruit of the Looms!! I now wear boxer briefs and love them!!! Getting some new fun pairs for after my surgery.

Re: I feel like all I do is whine

I had to look to see where you were from to make sure we weren't sharing doctors. I'm beginning to think that fixating on what-is-not-really-the-problem-here is something taught to military docs. (I'm a USAF vet myself, and my DH recently retired after 24 years)

Please vent - I vented about the massive lack of info from my doc all over the place here. It helps - especially the support you will find.

And HUGS!!

Amen to the "not peeing yourself" TeaLady and to not running to the bathroom to check to see if Flo has made a visit. That's my routine every hour or so. the constan feeling of getting your period is insane.
I can't wait to buy new underware and maybe light colored shorts for the summer. Oh what a wonderful day that will be.
Good luck LoriGH

Re: I feel like all I do is whine

I had a LAVH nearly 5 months ago & enjoy being free of bulky pads. As for the hair loss...no issues before my hyster but have 4 months post op, is thinning now.(thankfully I have thick hair). It's not hormonal in my case but a reaction to the surgery AND not everyone gets this..so don't stress about it. I have had no weight gain but had weight loss...so there is a positive. So keep positive & you will feel on top of it soon

Re: I feel like all I do is whine

I usually mix my whine with wine. Wine is after all nature's muscle relaxer. I am 8 weeks post op. I threw away my period panties last week. This week I am buying a new stain free matress pad. I am also going to treat myself to new stain free panties. Pretty much everything pre-op has got to go. So exciting!

Re: I feel like all I do is whine

Odd as it sounds, I still don't believe it's true; that I won't have my period. I still check to see if I have bled everytime I go to the bathroom and my hyster was 10/20/11. I'll take the clean panties surprise over the uh oh panties any day : ))))

Re: I feel like all I do is whine

Hi lori. And welcome. I had my tvh last week and let me tell you I have felt pretty great. My surgery took 40 minutes and I kept my overies. I've had cervical cancer scares for the last 11 years and it finally hit the can't be pushed back point. Along with heavy periods that never made any sence. My age made me a bit aprehensive. I'm 27. But ill tell you what......aunt flo put me in more pain than I'm in now. Ok so don't get me wrong the first few days percocet was my pal but now I feel like I'm cheating lol. I hope my story gives you some hope and makes your."adventure" as I call it easier. I can't wait to go shopping and buy pretty stuff with no worries of flo destroying it. Good luck and hugs feel free to vent anytime.

I haven't slept right in months, I mean months, my body feels like a stranger to me, I've been bleeding or spotting non stop since the last cone procedure, and now, I'm being woken up out of my sleep with cramps that feel like some little fool with a sledgehammer is running around my uterus with an anger problem. There is nothing like waking up to Aunt Flo's announcement that I will be doing laundry today...even with the "overnight" pads it looked like some horrible scene out of nightmare on elm street. Ok, so I'm being a little over-dramatic, but UHG! I remember when I would fantasize about winning the lottery, now I fantasize about being able to own a pair or WHITE underwear.. (sigh) how times have changed.
I have a little over 3 weeks to go until my TVH, I'm terrified, yet I'm impatient all at the same time. I read the stories and sometimes I'm encouraged, and other times I am scared out of my wits. I worry about my, already peanut sized, bladder and if I'll be able to control myself after the support has been literally removed from under it. I'm already having hormonal issues to include hair loss and weight gain (EEEKKK) even though my doctor has said he is going to try to salvage my ovaries ( I'm starting to feel like an old pick-up truck "salvage") My regular doctor doesn't seem to be as concerned about the hair loss and weight gain as I am,..in fact, she actually asked me if I was pulling out my hair and binge eating when I went to see her about it. I wanted to look at her and say "why yes doctor, although I was doing these things, I needed to drive an hour to your office, take time off work, humiliate myself, just to get confirmation that these type of activities would make me fat and **** near bald" Suffice to say, NO I do not binge eat nor pull my own hair out. After checking my thyroid levels, she says,..your fine, you're just getting older, you don't need much more than a sandwich as you get older.. I wanted to smack her in the face. Then of course she hands me a flyer for a program that the VA has that would require me to drive that hour I mentioned before, once a week to a nutritional program, that I could have written myself to "help" me lose weight. What about my hair doc?? Why is there blood in my urine doc? Oh,.and by the way doc, nice miss on the cervical cancer doc...
As you can tell, I'm just venting a little. Like I said, I don't want to whine, I don't talk about this stuff to people in my everyday, but I figured that this is what this site was for. Thanks for your ears (or should I say eyes) ladies....

Lori: I had my surgery a week ago, and over and over I am reading about women with problems like you are having and have had feeling SO MUCH BETTER after the surgery, the pain beforehand appears to be worse than the pain of surgery recovery.

As a woman who had bladder impingement, I can tell you that I am just thrilled now.. I can go four, five, hours and overnight now without having to urinate!!! You wil love it.

Maybe get some psitive imagery hypnosis for surgery -- for I phone if you have it? It really helped my anxiety. I have tremendous anxiety in general... And this helped.

Good luck!

Re: I feel like all I do is whine

A cheer for white panties! I finally got rid of a bunch of mine after my husband prompted me to. I didn't feel like spending money on more that were just going to end up stained anyway! But I did and I have to agree that spotless panties are a relief. It's the little things!
