Re: How can I get ready?

The best advice I got right before surgery is to breath. Yes its thats simple a deep breath in and out will calm you down. I had my Nook all charged up and I put some tunes on it so I could just veg out after surgery. A cell phone and your charger cables because you will want to be able to call people.
I also had a DH who was wonderful and freaked out but everything else just works out.
Sending Hugs and good vibes!

Re: How can I get ready?

You are so blessed to have a supportive DH!
But even if you hadn't (I was on my own) you would still be fine!

The surgery is a breeze - over before you know it.

I had a TAH, and I have nice long scar from belly button to pubes - it will fade one day, I guess!

Try not to worry too much - it's hard not to, but you sound as if you are as ready as you can be.
You'll soon be on the other side and there is a ton of support and reassurance in the Post-op. forum.
I am over 5 months post-op. and the time has flown. Not a lot of fun for a start, TBH, but it gets better. I've forgotten I ever had surgery apart from the scar reminding me, and the swelly belly has not quite gone yet.... but I feel terrific and hope you soon will, too. Just be patient for the good days ahead - you will get there!
