estrogen after DCIS

Had a TVH with ovaries removed in December. I also has Ductual Carcinoma in situ, non invasive cancer in my left breast, it was estrogen negative. At this time I am not taking ab HRT but think I can since I did not have invasive estrogen positive cancer. I am having a very hard time after this, not sleeping, hot flashes and total irritability, heart racing and incredible anxiety. I am wondering if any one else has gone on estrogen after DCIS er/pr-.

Re: estrogen after DCIS

My DCIS was ER+/PR+ and I've been on HRT and not planning to go off any time soon if ever.

What does your DR suggest you do to deal with your symptoms?

Hi surferbabe,

My doctor suggested remifiren, which is not working. What do you take?

Re: estrogen after DCIS

I use the Vivelle-dot patch, which contains estradiol (estrogen), plus a little bit of OTC natural progesterone cream.
