Tomorrow is THE DAY!

Hmm tomorrow is the day and I am having mixed emotions about it. I know it is something I need and it will make me feel a thousand percent better but I can't help but wonder what if.. I am 28 and everyone who hears I am having this surgery gives me the sad eyes and tells me how so sorry they are. I am so sick of the " I feel bad for you your life is over" looks and comments from people. I want to scream at them and tell them that my life will just be starting and without the awful pain and horrible bleeding that I have had for the last 12+ years. No more lap surgeries and no more ER visits because the pain is so bad. Ok done venting ;-) starting the bowl prep at noon. Not looking forward to that at all. I am so glad that I am first surgery tomorrow morning. I have to be there at 6 AM. I know I won't be getting any sleep tonight. But ahhhhhh it's almost over!

Good luck to everyone else that has theirs scheduled tomorrow!! ( and any other day)

Re: Tomorrow is THE DAY!

I'm sorry you have to hear all those comments. It definitely doesn't help. Maybe its because I'm 46 (today!), but everyone that finds out tells me its the best thing they've ever done and that they wish they had it done sooner.

Good luck tomorrow. Mine is being done tomorrow as well! See you on the flip side!

Best wishes to both of you. Happy Birthday feb82012.

Asgh, don't give those comments a second thought. Only you know what's best for you and you have the support of your hystersisters.

The waiting for the surgery is the hardest part. Tomorrow will be here and gone before you know it and you will be on your way to recovery.

Don't forget to visit the post op section and update us on your surgery and recovery.

Re: Tomorrow is THE DAY!

For many there is a better life after the surgery! I think people just feel badly that you have to undergo major surgery and have to be in such a difficult place. I'm sorry that anyone has to undergo all the pain that leads us to these decisions. There is something to be said of a pain free normal life! Wishing you the best!

Re: Tomorrow is THE DAY!

i hate the"sad eyes, i'm sorry" look. and the advice from people who have never even had to consider this.

Good luck with your surgery, i go on the 13th.

Re: Tomorrow is THE DAY!

My surgery is tomorrow too and I'm very very nervous.. Never had surgery before!!! I'm trying to keep myself busy. My Dr. will try to do the robotic 1st and then if my uterus is too big (20Weeks) she'll do an abdominal incision... I have to go with an open mind and trust but I’m so scared!!!!
