Re: I'm annoyed, and a little sad. Why do women keep their cervices?

I had my cervix removed, and both ovaries. I feel fine. The swelly belly has deflated, I have energy again and zest for life, sex is better than ever, desire for sex is back and all's well in that department. I had a hystery of abnormal paps, large fibroids, ovarian cysts, all causing a domino effect of other pain and problems throughout my body, it was decided all around, surgeon, husband and mine, that it all had to go.

Keeping the cervix, or one or both ovaries, isn't always a choice. If it has to go, it has to go, but life isn't over if that decision gets made. Love, romance, and sex, and health and vitality, don't spring exclusively from a wee piece of us. We're still women, with heart and soul, and with patience, creativity, enthusiasm and participation, life only gets better.
