pre-op appointment very reassuring

Had my pre-op apt today and though I was very nervous going in, I was so comfortable when it was over. Dr. Reassured me of all the things I was worried about. The cathether was very nerve wrecking for me and he says that it will go in after I am asleep and come out before I wake up! Yeah that makes me happy. Any changes that may need to be made due to what he finds when he bets inside (damage from endo)will be approved by dh before done and I should be able to go home same day. He gave me a patch to wear to help combat sickness and gave me a script for a mild sedative fir the morning of surgery since I am such an anxious person. He also moved me to the first appointment of the day so I would not have to go so long without eating

He was so great and now I am not so worried about all the little things. He even apologized niw for the bowel prep

Now a question... he said I woild be released for intercourse at 2 weeks... lsh ladies is this your situation as well? Also said I could exersize as I felt ready as soon as I wanted.

Would love to hear what your thoughts are.

Re: pre-op appointment very reassuring

Wow 2 weeks! My instructions say nothing in the vigina for 6 weeks! I would not even think about sex at 2weeks lol and I haven't even had my surgery yet! I guess see how you feel at 2 weeks I would wait longer for sex and exercise myself. Good luck on your surgery.

Re: pre-op appointment very reassuring

I'm glad you found the pre-op reassuring. Mine is coming up on Monday and I am a bit nervous.

As for the sex at 2 weeks? My doc is super-conservative: he said nothing in the vagina for 8 weeks. He said he'll see me at 6 weeks post-op and then probably tell me things look great but still wait 2 more weeks. I am paranoid about things healing right so I plan to follow these instructions. DH seems cool with waiting too.

Everything I've read, 6 weeks seems to be about average for intercourse. Did he mean outercourse at 2 weeks? I am going to ask my doc if that is OK earlier or when it would be safe to have an orgasm (without putting anything in the vagina until I am cleared).
