Issues and concerns two months post op

On 12/27/11 I had TAH...both ovaries are gone. I am surprised no doctor ever mentioned endo before since I have had each and every symptom and surgery related to the disease.
I am posting because I started walking trying to get some exercise. I kept pushing myself thinking I was wimping out. I finally called my doctor because the pain in my right side and back, (that was there preop) was now going down my right leg and I could not walk or sit without experiencing pain.
My appetite has decreased. I have not gained weight yet my stomach does look more bloated than when I came home after surgery.
It was late when I called my doctor so she sent me to urgent care who took xrays said I have bursitis. They recommended a pain specialist. I went to my primary care instead. Both had asked about my bowel movements and at the time they were okay.
Yesterday, I looked up the definition of constipation. I thought maybe I have never REALLY experienced constipation! I have been taking stool softeners. But yes I did have bowel movement probs yesterday.
My hip hurt so bad last night that I slept on the floor. It is difficult to turn in the bed.
I have also read that even though they took my ovaries there could be remnants left?

Re: More surgery, ovarian remnant syndrome

It is a possibility but what you are describing sounds like my ureter pain after my hystectomy. The scar tissue kinked my ureter causing my kidney to back up. They did a CT with contrast to confirm

Re: More surgery, ovarian remnant syndrome

Do you know how close the sacroiliac joint is in relation to the female organs? On one of my pre-op ct scans a mass was seen in that area. I am wondering if she touched that area. I go back to her this week. I just love to drive myself crazy until then.

With multiple types of symptoms going on, it would be wise for you to keep a detailed symptom diary. This can help your doctors determine everything that is going and the best ways to treat each issue.

If you were diagnosed with bursitis, were you offered any treatment for it by your doctor? Maybe be a cortisone shot and/or physical therapy? A pain specialist may really be able to help.

As yes, Ovarian Remnant Syndrome (ORS) can occur if a bit of ovarian tissue was missed. Here is an article on the topic: Can Ovaries Grow Back...?
