Re: 48 sleeps to my op - don't know if I can cope!

Okay. I will condition myself to think of my needs. I'm probably gonna invest in some earplugs as well! Why is it that it seems so easy on the face of things, but a bit more complicated in reality? You're right little star about stress making recovery harder. I must remember that! I will also invest in some sleeping tablets.

Its quite surreal when I think of it. I keep thinking of the time I was a little girl watching my mum come back from hospital in agony. Now here I am going down the same path. The only difference is that medicine has thankfully advanced since then. silver lining?

Re: 48 sleeps to my op - don't know if I can cope!

Absolutely and there is AMBIEN!! My kids tend to step up when they can see that I am noticeably in pain. I have been a career patient for the past year or so and they are quite used to it and most likely more than over it. It teaches them empathy. My little ones will rub my feet...very sweet. It's the control freak in me that feels that I am inadequate if the house isn't spotless, the laundry isn't done and 4 course meals aren't the norm. Why as women are we so **** hard on ourselves? Do an experiment...let something you obsess about go..just a little thing...see if anyone notices or cares...they probably won't. Which just goes to show you we set ourselves up to fail by making expectations way to high for any human to live up to. Give yourself a break...go get a pedicure! Says the girl who now has hemorrhoids she's so stressed out!!

Re: 48 sleeps to my op - don't know if I can cope!

I get very stressed if something isn't done the way I want it done. The sad part to my tale is that sadly I don't live with my kids. They are with their dad in Cambridge and I'm in Peterborough. I live with Paul and twice a week his two kids come over. I have come to the conclusion that his daughter has Electra Complex which is being addressed now. In the meantime, I am apprehensive when she's around and I can't relax. I'm so far from home and really wish my mum was here to look after me!

Re: 48 sleeps to my op - don't know if I can cope!

Yikes, I guess I should lighten up...I just have girls who spread their toys everywhere and a 10 year old who refuses to put down the toilet seat. I would take cover with a good book when his kids are around. At least until you are feeling better. I just took mine out for a walk. Now they all have a serious case of the "whinys". Whatever...a bowl of hot soup and to bed with their cranky asses. Still have college boy's laundry to do. How many more sleeps?? I could use the sedatives...

Lol. Yeah I know. Pretty messed up. Sigh. I envy you. I tell you what though, I feel stronger now I've spoken to you. I don't even know who you are, but after our chat on here, you feel closer than most others in my life right now. Its amazing how distance is insignificant when we find ourselves in need of support. My dad used to say 'God brings you to it, so God will get you through it'. I think I'm 37 sleeps! Oh gosh. I'm getting scared again! Eek!!
