Re: Taking off bandages and washing incisions

You will feel that way for awhile! I am almost 5 weeks post op, and some times I feel that way! I'm glad that you were able to take the bandages off and take a shower. I'm sure you do feel better!! I know taking the bandages off is kinda scary, but happy that you were able to!! Take care......continued healing.

Re: Taking off bandages and washing incisions

I had my LSH on Wed. The doctor took the bandages off two of the three incisions Thursday morning before I left hospital. The third one was weeping a bit so left that gauze on. On Friday at home I took the third bandage off to let it get air. I had no more weeping at that point. I showered Saturday morning and gently washed the incisions, per my doctor's instructions, and patted them dry. I go Tuesday to get the stitches out. I have noticed a little yellow bruising at the incision sites but otherwise they look good. I am wearing the high cotton underpants that cover the incisions but high enough so the waistband does not sit on the site.
