Endo or fibroid symptoms? OR just ME?

Hi, well along with the pain in my lower stomach most of the time, I have heavy bleeding, tiredness, and all that too, the same symptoms I've read by others on here. But does anyone have any of these????
1. I'm cold most of the time, I can't get warm even under electric blanket. So if too little estrogen makes you have hot flashes, could I be getting too much hence cold flashes? I know my hormones are out of whack, got zits like never before, mood swings etc.
2. Big time pain before going poohpooh It seems like I have pain moving through my intestines as the movement travels through on way out??
3. Swelling...hands and face look so huge to me right now.
4. Oh and a repeat of ZITS, what's up with that? Never even had zits as a teen, now I'm getting them everywhere, my neck, chest, butt, back. WHY?? ANYONE?
5. My allergies are going bonkers right now and usually don't bother me this time of year. Finding it hard to breath when going up or down stairs, tickle in my throat driving me crazy.
I guess I just plain old feel yucky and look yucky. I want to be 'me' again. I hope this surgery brings me back

Not just you.... =o)

I have every symptom you mentioned except for the swelling of the face and hands. I've been going through this for years, but never knew it was related to anything gynecological. This past year had gotten so bad and along with everything else, I found out that I am anemic(hence, I am freezing while others are warm and I keep the heater on all the time at about 76 just so I can get out of bed and move around). After blood tests and one lap. surgery to try and control the bleeding and tissue removal to lessen my pelvic pain, I now need a hyst. I thought a lot of the symptoms were in my head, but they aren't. I am very happy to be having this surgery and my doctor assures me that the pelvic pain should go away completely(along with the pain I have before and during urination, bm's and the pain I have during and after sex). Also, the lack of periods will bring my blood count back up to a healthy number, rather than a 10. I'm sure I share some of your frustrations and worries about the symptoms, as probably many other women here will, too. This is the best site around and you'll be able to get many questions answered and fears put to rest. I feel for you! Trust me, you are not alone....

God bless, keep in touch and big s to you....

Me too!!

Hi LisaJean,

I have every symptom you mentioned with the exception of the allergies. I've almost passed out before going to the bathroom because of the pain. I've had problems with edema for a while, and also couldn't understand why I didn't have a single zit until I hit my early 20's. It's like everything just gradually went haywire! I'm sorry that you're going through all that but I'm really glad to know that I'm not the only one I think we'll have a lot to look forward to post-surgery!!

Endo or fibroid symptoms? OR just ME?

Hi, LisaJean!
Yup! Sounds like endo and fibroids to me! Been there - had that - had it taken out - MUCH MUCH MUCH better now!
Fibroids = heavy bleeding which = anemia which = cold all the time
Endo = adhesions which = "sticky" together insides which = IBS-like symptoms.
Endo can also = stuck-together ovaries which = malfunctioning ovaries which = hormone h-e-double toothpicks which = zits, etc.
At least it did in my case!

BTW...the swelly hands, feet thing also got better post-hyst. I even lost 1/2 shoe size! And 12 pounds! Haven't got a clue as to what caused it and honestly, don't care why!

Hang in there, sweetie! If you're lucky enough to "click" on hrt, it will be smooth sailing! I'm 9 weeks post op yesterday and really feel better than I have in 20 years!

Here's hugs and prayers hoping you'll have sweet success and the blessings of a pain-free life!
love,
-di

Outta breath

Lisa Jean,
I too am anemic w/ a low RBC (red blood count) and low Mean Corpuscular Volume (MCV) translates to - tiny red corpuscles according to the doc (gastroenterologist) yesterday. My husband has a rare blood disease where his blood is too thick and has learned loads about what happens to thick and thin. Bottom line is that I understand a low RBC can give you some shortness of breath. Additionally, according to the grastro guy, because I am on Prevacid for acid reflux problems, the body does not absorb iron from vegetables because they rely on stomach acid to "release" the beneficial properties. He said the iron in beef is able to be absorbed without that stomach acid. Encouraged liver. He said it would help if I took 250 to 500 mg of vitamin C to help "release" the benefits of the veggies and encouraged keeping up the veggies because of the other B vitamins, fiber, yada. Hope some of this helps.

Oh wow, thanks so much you all!

I'm so glad I asked all those questions!!! Thank you all for replying. I'm glad I'm not alone in all this weirdness. Here I was thinking it was just me, but wondered about it because it seems to have gotten worse and worse just like the symptoms I did know about have gotten worse and worse. I feel like I'm falling apart at 32yrs old. I'm so glad there's a light at the end of this tunnel. Sure wish I didn't have to wait till Feb., but with the holiday's and a vacation next week, I put it off till then. The worrying is hard though. I had wanted to do it right away once I'd found out how bad it all was from the laproscopic surg, but husband convinced me to wait. Now seems like the symptoms are getting worse faster and faster. Lots of pain and tons of bleeding, tiredness, etc along with all that weirdness I'd mentioned in other post.

Endo or fibroid symptoms? OR just ME?

Holy cow! I have all of those symptoms! I thought I was just weird!! And they have been getting LOTS worse over the past couple of months.

I'm not even diagnosed with endo or fibroids, though - well, one tiny fibroid. I just have adeno. I guess this is another thing to ask my doctor about!

Wow, I feel so much less "weird" now that I'm not the only one with all these weird things happening.

Endo or fibroid symptoms? OR just ME?

Yea, I've been wondering about all these weird things going on with me for a while. Had alot of pain and got diagnosed for that finally after finding a great doc and laproscopic surgery, but all these other little annoying things, never knew why, but its great that we can come here and find out we aren't so 'abnormal'hehe. Just waiting for our crowns

Me too!!!!

I had no idea that my most recent "complaints" might possibly be related to my fibroids/ and possible endo. My DH always referred to me as a "radiator" since as a Florida girl I always ran hot. ("Please turn on the A/C!!!!") In the past 2 years, I've dealt with the bloating, gas and painful and frequent bm's...annoying and ick. ...I never thought that it might be something else

Keep posting... Janet.

I've caught a cold....

I'm glad I'm nt the only one getting more bloated and having your symptoms get a lot worse now that the end is in sight. I thought I was weird. Anyone know why that is? And what is with this zit thing? Maybe it's that fibroid which is in residence -- I think it is the State of Texas. Alas, I've caught dh's cold. Pre-op is Tuesday and surgery is one week from tomorrow and I'd better not be sick...
