Surgery tomorrow - nerves kicking in!!!

Well, I'm doing my bowel prep, surgery is tomorrow morning at 7:30 and all of a sudden it seems so real! I think I have been in denial that this was really going to happen. I know everything will be ok but it's still really scary. All of the support and good advice that I have gotten from this site has been so helpful. I hope I can pay it back with post-op advice. Not sure I'll get any sleep tonight since we have to leave at 4:30a.m. for the hospital. See you on the other side!

Re: Surgery tomorrow - nerves kicking in!!!

I had to be at the castle today at 8am today and was home by 4:30. All of my worrying is gone. Had some nausea problems. vitals were good. Some of the pain is like what I have experiencing for a year. Can deal with is. Hang in there girls, it will be over before you know it.

I'm on the way to the other side, post op forum. See you soon. Prayers going up for you. I had plenty of them going up for me today and they worked as usual. It has been in God's hands from the beginning.

((((hugs)))) to all of you.

Good luck for a speedy recovery. It will be over before you know it. I didn't think I'd sleep the night before, but I was so tired from stressing about it, I slept like a rock!

Re: Surgery tomorrow - nerves kicking in!!!

You will do great! I had my DvH on the 3rd of January. I had never been put under before and was very nervous about it. The nurses kept telling me I would get my "margarita" before I went back. haha It worked just like a margarita. By the time I got to the operating room I could no longer hold my eyes open and woke up after it was all over. I hardly used any pain meds. The only reason I used it was because I didn't like the feel of the stitches pulling when they had me lie on my side to get air to move. Oh, my doctor told me that if I would lay slightly elevated to flat the first 48 hours the air would not travel to my shoulders, and he was right! I never had to deal with that pain. Good luck!!! You will feel so much better!
