Re: coming to terms on never having kids

I will be 40 next month and have no kids either. We tried fertility treatments for three years - 3 IUU's and 2 IVF's. We already knew during this process that I have endometriosis. During this process we also found out that I have Rhematoid Arthritis. I had two surgeries for the endometriosis ( most recently in June). I still have to avoid baby showers and struggle to be happy for people that discover they are pregnant. I often say to myself "why not me"? It is a hard pill to swallow. I need a hysterectomy now due to the severity of my endometriosis. I have now come to terms that I will not have children and say to myself "maybe there is something special for me coming in another way one day". We are considering a foster or adoption possibility after I am healed from surgery. It is scheduled on 2/28. On a positive note, I know that I will no longer be in horrible pain for 7-10 days out of every 19 days of my cycle. Try to stay positive and hope, like me, that there is something special for you too in the coming months/years.
