Re: Sit or lie down

Lay down. I'm 24 days post op and I still can only tolerate sitting for about 1-2 hours.

Re: Sit or lie down

I'm 4 1/2 weeks post op. My recliner saved me durring the first couple weeks, and now I split my resting time between my recliner and my bed. Sitting is still hard for me.

Re: Sit or lie down

I find it comfortable to sit legs on a stool with a soft pillow in a recliner.

Re: Sit or lie down

Lying down or recliner. Sitting upright uses more abdominal muscles. It took a long time for me to be able to sit upright without pain. I ordered a bed table and worked lying down. The bad news is that working lying down can lead to neck and upper back pain. I hope you feel better soon!

Re: Sit or lie down

I'm 18 days post op and I feel your pain. I couldn't sleep on my side, so I had my hubby prop to pillows under my legs & three behind my back!!

Re: Sit or lie down

I didn't feel comfortable sitting for any length of time until about 3-4 weeks. Even then I would end up with swelly belly. I spent most of my time either laying or sitting up in bed.
