Re: Pads??

After the surgery does the hospital provide some type of panties or do I need to bring my own.

Re: Pads??

I had no panties on upon waking up in my room I did have a pad in place though. Some hospitals provide these mesh-type panties. The pad stays in place just fine as we all walk in a little old lady shuffle for several days post op. I would not bother with your own panties as the nurses are constantly checking the pad for drainage/bleeding. In fact, I brought nothing from home other than the clothes I wore in to the hospital. The hospital has everything you will need. It's one less thing to have on your mind.

Re: Pads??

Donna
I had no panties on after surgery. Next day when I went home hospital provided lovely mesh panties and a cruises ship size pad! Only ever needed panty liner. Not sure why I didn't put my own underwear on to leave hospital LOL must of been on pain meds

Re: Pads??

I was told to bring my own underwear- so I'm taking it nothing will be provided for me. Those mesh panty things were great after childbirth!

Re: Pads??

KJ, I just love how you described the pad - cruise ship sized... LOL It made me think back to the ones my grandmother still had lying around after she went through the change - the kind that hooked to garter belt like straps... I used to laugh at those as well.... Big honking things they were! LOL

I have just finished packing my bag for tomorrow. It's fairly empty at the moment and only contains deoderant, a few hair ties and scrunchies, my hair brush and a pair of underware and a pad for the trip home. I plan on wearing what I wear to the hospital tomorrow, home as well, so I didn't feel the need to pack an extra set of clothes being that I'll only be in them long enough to go from the house to the hospital. And then from there, I'll be in some type of hospital gown prior to the surgery.... Other than that, my last minute things to pack will be my toothbrush and toothpaste and my pillows.

I still have a package of pads here at the house that is 1/2 full, so I plan on just using those once I get home until I run out. And then, if I need something more, will send my son or my friend to the store for more.

LOL But THANK YOU for the laugh with that cruise ship sized pad... LOL That was good!

Re: Pads??

I am 3 weeks post op.. Never needed a full "pad" but have needed a panty liner on everyday since surgery.. Light brownish pink discharge is what I am still getting.. I would pick up thin panty liners as a pad to me would be irritating with not nearly enough to get on it..
