Almost there!

I got in with my doctor, the same doctor that did my last surgery and took my right ovary, cleaned out my uterus but left one 3 cm fibroid in. I went to him complained of pain, he said my insurance wont take my uterus for just pain. Then after talking to him for a bit he said wait a minute let me check on something. He stepped out, came right back in, Oh ya I had an ultrasound done on you earlier this month and there is a fibroid in there. I talked to him about the research I have done, he said ok, I will submit the surgery to your insurance. I should hear in a couple days if my insurance will ok the second surgery that should have been done in one. He did say he would fight for me to have my uterus taken out. He said he would do it for free but who would pay for the hospital and all the other doctors involved, like the anesthesiologist.

Re: Almost there!

What a ridiculous system, when insurance companies are left to make medical decisions! I can only imagine your frustration. I really hope you get good news soon, so that you can live the life you are meant to have! Good luck. Keep us posted!

Re: Almost there!

I know it has been frustrating in many areas of my life. I try to get better so I can work again, try to get medical help so I can get better, but disability insurance wont pay for it. Very very frustrating. But I moved to a bigger city and am slowly getting the help I been seeking for many years now. If and when I hear anything I will post it. today I have been cramping really bad, if it is still like this in the morning I will call my doctor. I am on naproxen for my arthritis, just wondering if the hydrocodeine that my gyno surgeon prescribed me for my first surgery would interact badly with the naproxen.

Sorry you are in pain today. But I'm glad to hear your doctor is advocating for you. Good luck. I hope you can get in soon.
