Re: DaVinci with a vaginal removal?

I had laparoscopic (not da vinci though) with uterus also removed vaginally - As I've posted on here before, I have had an on and off sensation where I think the vaginal cuff is, but no pain per se in the vaginal area (just an awareness really). If there is any way you can get your doctor to not release you until at least 4 weeks, I really recommend that. At the 2 week mark you might feel strangely good, but it's amazing how in the 3-4th weeks you might feel like you're going a bit backwards sometimes. I just started back at work this week, at the start of my 5th week, and I was almost in tears driving home from a part time day (of not doing too much besides sitting and talking lol) because of sheer exhaustion. It just hits you out of nowhere! Best of luck to you!!!

Re: DaVinci with a vaginal removal?

I had Davinci surgery 6 days ago. Due to prolapsed uterus and cervix I had my uterus, cervix and tubes all removed (only kept ovaries). They did remove mine vaginally although my uterus and cervix were already hanging out due to prolapse so it prob didn't take much. From the get go my Dr was adament that I would be off 6 weeks. He said he had one person return to work per her request at 2 weeks and he did not reccomend it. He said Davinci is a much less invasive surgery, but it is still a "major" Surgery and that healing time is needed. I also had the TOT sling which is a 4 week recoovery. I return to work April 10 (1 day after 6 weeks) if all goes as planned. Day 6 I am feeling good. I have not taken any pain meds in 2 Days but I do get tired very easy. My abnomen is only tender and I never had any discomfort or pain in vaginal area - I was shocked. I would have never known anything was done there. I had no bleeding at all just spotting here and there. Yesterday I was up and about more (no lifting) but trying to help family what I could with 6 year old and 5-1/2 month old. Last evening I was sooooooooo tired and had a little spotting so today I am going to not do as much. If I continue to feel better each day I think 6 weeks will be perfect time frame.

Wishing everyone a speedy recovery!
