2 weeks to go

I have been feeling happy, confident, and optimistic about surgery but after seeing my hemotologist I am a little nervous. She was pretty unhappy with my iron levels and has ordered more tests for me asap. She mentioned that I might need an iron transfusion. Has anyone had one of these?

My anemia was brought on by very heavy periods which is the reason my gynecologist and I decided on the hysterectomy. I haven't bled in about 3 weeks and had a blood transfusion about the same time as my last period ended. I do take warfarin. I am really hoping my iron levels are better because I really don't need any further possible complications at this point.

Re: 2 weeks to go

I am sorry you are dealing with this. I have never had an iron transfusion, but hope that you can get your issues resolved so you can have your surgery.
