could not pee when cath was removed

Hi Jodi, it appears we are in the same boat. I hope you've read dome of the positive replys I received about this situation. Finding this web site has been very positive in it's self. I too have a full bladder and the urge to pee, but nothing comes out. I'm hoping that with rest and retraining my bladder will start working soon.

Re: could not pee when cath was removed

Well, I went to have the cath removed yesterday & it didn't work again. Although I was able to pee a few ounces, there was still 520ml in my bladder. My Gyn sent me to a bladder specialist. He said the bladder was still swollen & I am showing signs of a UTI. Put me on a antibiotic & said we will remove the catheter on Tuesday. He said it is normal & that everyone heals at a different pace.
