Re: WHAT exactly are we leaking for 6 weeks after a hysterectomy???

I feel like I should shower 20x a day! I hope these sweating bouts go away soon & I hope when I finally do go thru menopause it's not this bad...... Glad you're all recovering too!

Re: WHAT exactly are we leaking for 6 weeks after a hysterectomy???

Ladies, my discharge has been pinkish, brownish, and pinkish again! My Dr said it is the semi bloody fluids that come out of the abdomen through the vaginal incision. I am 5+ weeks post op from a second surgery thru the vagina and I still have it. At times it only shows up when I wipe, other times I don't see it. I don't have a good sense of smell so I don't smell anything but can imagine it smells too. When I had my actual DvH hysterectomy I never had it, it started from the second surgery only. It frustrates me because I thought I'd never have to wear a pad again!

Re: WHAT exactly are we leaking for 6 weeks after a hysterectomy???

I had the major night sweats for about 2 weeks post op.
I had to change clothes and even slept on a towel 1 night!
It caiught me off guard as i kept my ovaries...perhaps the anesthesia wearing off? N an case, it ended and now I am
4 weeks and not sweating so much or having to wake up 3x/
Night to pee either...progress!

I hope it passes quickly for you too!

Candy: I must be suffering from lack of sleep, because I read your name as "Cindy Brady". LOL.
Scorp: Hopefully you won't need a pad much longer!
KimChi: I kept my ovaries too, so I was surprised by the sweating. I considered sleeping on a towel too--I can't change the sheets and I hate asking DH to help me strip/wash/make the bed every day... Hoping the sweating/leaking/peeing goes away soon...........

Re: WHAT exactly are we leaking for 6 weeks after a hysterectomy???

Three weeks tomorrow for me, and still slight pinkish 'bleeding'. Blah. Just when I think it's done, there it is again. No smell happening here, thank goodness! Cross my fingers! But I feel a prisoner to the 'what if's'. Doc appointment coming up in a few days or so for first post op check. Im dreading an internal...
