Ore op and have ?

Hi sisters! I have fibroids and one is the size of a grapefruit. I can feel them. I also have endometrius and adenomyosis (sp) so I'm in need of a hysterectomy. I had DNC with ablation in 2009 and nothing was in there. Doc wanted to take it all but am worried about losing ovaries. I'm 45 to be 46 6 days after surgery. Surgery is scheduled for march 6th. I need stories about no ovaries. My mom had this done with all gone and never went into menopause. Will I be lucky enough to do that too? I am in such pain... I think I'm going to give birth to this tumor! Heating pad is my best friend! I use Lamaze for the cramps! I drive a bus for a living. Not a school bus but a motor coach. I love my job but moving luggage gets painful at times. I'm still throwing around the ovarie thing. My ovaries hurt down my legs. Doc said its scar tissue around them. Any ideas? So glad to find this sight. Oh yea I had a full tummy tuck in 05 and have to have the abdomen cut. I hate that idea. It have. O choice. Any Answers?

Re: Ore op and have ?

Everyone wishes for a crystal ball for what life is like after surgery. No one can answer that and everyone is different. For me, surgical menopause was way to rough and I had to go on ERT. (I am 46.) Other women do not have any issues with surgical menopause. The good news is that you can take a wait and see attitude, and you can change your mind. BUT, you should also talk to your doctor about your situation. Health issues can dictate options.

Good luck to you...
