4 weeks post op and I really thought I would feel better then this :(

This Tuesday I will be 4 weeks post op. Don't get me wrong, I feel better than week one but I really thought I would feel better than I do.

My lower abdomin where my cuff is feels "raw" is the best word to describe it. Im crampy. Light cramps but none the less still crampy. Doc had to do an internal the other day to see if I had an infection, thank God I do not, but he said I am healing awesome and everything looks great.. Why the cramps then?

And sooooo tired.. I hate that feeling of knowing that I am going to be exhausted after an outing..

I hear ya Gail! I also thought I would feel much better by now but if I do even a little bit I'm exhausted. If I try to wear anything besides pjs bottoms my belly hurts! It's frusturating. I think we just need to be more patient.

Hi gmac, remember that with the Dvh we had all our malodies delivered thru the vagina. This means our pelvis area "just above the vagina cuff' was very overworked. You will feel some cramping and some random pulsations come and go in that area, and at the very cuff too. This is the feeling of healing. So, when you feel that just think how you are healing. Just take your pain med or Motrin (400-800mg) and you should be fine. I say this because I have felt the same thing.

Forget about all the stories on how the da vince allows many women to go back to work at week 2, even if they did I am sure they suffered for it.

Oh, Sister, sorry to know you're having a bad time with cramps.

I can only say that I had a real jump on week 5, so, I'm hoping the same happens to you. The cramps were gone. Just like that.

Hang in there, Sis.

Thanks ladies. I may start to take my motrin again. Pretty much stopped taking any meds for pain at week 2. And I agree on the whole Da Vinci thing too.. I feel like I was man handled.. Lol

No more meds on my end but still sum pain. The best fir me has been a heating pad & warm showers. Try not to over do it. These naps every 3 hrs when will i be back on track ¿?

I am right there with you girls. I still feel it everyday. I live with my heating pad 24/7. Im guessing when they say 6-8 weeks they mean it to the very last day.

Re: 4 weeks post op and I really thought I would feel better then this :(

I hear you ladies - I also thought I'd be flying high after 4 weeks but I still have the weird swelling feeling at the vaginal cuff and some light crampiness in my lower abdomen, not pain at all, just makes it impossible to still to wear even looser jeans which is aggravating. I put a pair of jeans on yesterday to run an errand, with a cute sweater, and felt SO much better just being out of my yoga pants....but after the drive, ran back into the house to put my yoga pants on, PHEW! RELIEF!

I totally agree that those of us who had laparoscopic surgeries are sold a bit of a bill in terms of the healing - Don't get me wrong, I am very happy I could have it done laparoscopically, but all those promises of "you'll be back to yourself in two weeks and feel like new!!" are hogwash I think!

Guess we just need to be patient - Take care everyone!
