Headache

Hi I am 11 days post op. I keep having awful headaches. I might even call them migraines (although I have technically never had one of those before). Some days they are bad enough we are putting towels up over our blinds to keep out the light b/c it makes my head hurt so bad and makes me feel like I'm going to yack. Others like today its just pretty awful light makes it a little worse but not debilitating (only had 2 of those days). I think they started day 5. I am on vilelle dot (sp?) As I did have a TAH/BSO and am 33 years old. I had a epidural (that did not work it only numbed my right leg). It took multiple sticks but I have had a spinal before that took more sticks and resulted in a spinal headache that required a patch plus 3 weeks to go away. This is not the same b/c laying down does not provide any relief so I don't really think it is related to the epidural.

Does this happen sometimes? Any suggestions? Tylenol is not helping I can not take NSAID b/c of severl Crohn's disease. I did take 5 doses b/c of inflammation that was causing swelling preventing me from urinating and now am in a Crohn's flare. Thanks in advance!

Re: Headache

They sound like they could be migraines. I would call your doctor about them. I get headaches triggered by ovulation; it's not uncommon for people to have them triggered by hormones changes. Could also be something else. I really think your doc needs to know.

There are specific migraine meds available that might help if that is the problem, but since you have Crohn's they'll need to consider that. Sorry to hear you are having a flare-up with that. Not fair!

I hope you can get the headaches resolved soon and that the rest of your healing goes smoothly.

Hugs.
