Will I still have Bleeding during X after hysterectomy?

Really not sure which forum this belongs in, but ....Just curious if any other women have experienced bleeding when having X? It's not something that happens all of the time. Every once in a while we will go months without it happening and then it will start again and can go on for months (not the bleeding itself, just the fact that I bleed during and after each time). Afterwards, it can last up to three or four days of spotting. Every doctor I have seen and asked about this has no idea why and I can't find anything on the internet. Once a doctor even said that if I had the hysterectomy (this isn't the one doing it), it would take away the source of the bleeding and therefore, I would no longer have that problem. So, anyone who has experienced this, did it stop after your hysterectomy? That is, assuming you kept your cervix and ovaries which I am hoping to do (ovaries for sure, talking to doctor about cervix). I think I can deal with mini periods if I have to, but I don't know if I want to go through this surgery if it won't solve this major problem. I am tired of not being able to be spontaneous without having to clean up or do laundry afterwards. And I am tired of this killing the mood. It just sends me into a depression and I don't want to have X until I am done bleeding (which can be days). I will of course ask my doctor about this as well, but I want answers from those who have gone through it since the doctors can't even tell me WHY it happens in the first place. Yes, he can say it won't happen, but being a man, does he really know??
Thanks so much! This group has been a great help!!

Re: Will I still have Bleeding during X after hysterectomy?

I'm having my hysterectomy due to irregular bleeding. My doctor said my cervix needs to go to, other wise she cannot promise that my bleeding problems will be solved. I would think that bleeding during intercourse would most likely be caused by some sort of irritation of the cervix. Has your doctor checked to make sure you don't have an infection? Bacterial vaginosis can cause bleeding during sex.

I tend to have frequent periods. Sometimes I can be close to starting a 2nd period in the same month and sex seems to kick it off. If my doctor performs a pelvic exam, it tends to have the same effect. If I'm close to starting my periods, any poking around in there can set things off.
