5 weeks from today (children mentioned)

Hi all,

I just scheduled my TAH yesterday and now it's starting to really feel real.

My doctor indicated that the results of my sonogram revealed a very thick lining and a bunch of cysts in each ovary (I was not surprised as I was diagnosed with PCOS in 2007.)

He plans to cauterize the cysts rather than remove the ovaries as they are functional.

I'm severly anemic because of the PCOS and taking Slow Fe iron supplements, Vitamin C to aid in the absorption of the iron, BC, and lots of Ducolax (thanks iron.) The anemia makes me tired alot, gives me headaches, makes me light headed and all that fun stuff. I know that the hyster won't cure the PCOS but it's nice to know I won't be bleeding/hemorrhaging anymore (and the blood clots the size of my face will NOT be missed.)

I have no reservations about having this procedure at 31 as I thankfully was blessed with a child 3 years ago (HOW? I COULDN'T TELL YOU!)

My husband is being super supportive and my job is being fantastic about it. I look forward to getting my life back and never having to carry around a spare pair of undies, pants, pads, tampons, even TENA pads (which are awesome by the way and I recommend them over any maxi). I am so excited to not have sleep on a towel, under a sheet.

Good bye and good riddance uterus!

Thanks Amy! Same to you. I feel like setting a ceremonial balloon off into the atmosphere the night before! Best of luck!
