4 mths post-op w/ vaginal tears

I am 4 months post-op and several times now I've experienced excruciating pain after having sex. The Dr said I have a small pinhole size tear that needs to heal. As of Friday it was healing great & Monday it tore again. I was told the cuff looks great, so has anyone experienced a "hole"? I can't describe exactly how painful it is, but it puts me down for at least 3 days, I miss work because of it, it hurts to sit, walk, move around, cough, everything. The pain shoots up my stomach to my chest and I swear there's air in there cuz my shoulder gets sharp shooting pains. This is embarrassing but if I have gas, OMG forget it.. might as well take a knife to every spot on my body from my belly button to my knees! SO painful. When my dr examined me 2 weeks ago he touch the area of the tear & i jumped. He told me i was sensitive cuz he hit an ovary.... yeah I had my ovaries taken out 4 months ago. My dr is a flipping genius. I am seeing a new dr March 9th but hate being in so much pain. Afraid to ever have sex again!

Re: 4 mths post-op w/ vaginal tears

Thank you ladies! I went for another appt Friday & asked for mirror to see what's going on. I certainly have a hole/tear in there & the pain was intense. The nurse practitioner said I should not be experiencing this after 4 months & may possibly need the cuff redone. I have an ultrasound Tuesday & appt for 2nd opinion on Friday. So frustrating!

Re: 4 mths post-op w/ vaginal tears

Sister,

that's really, really frustrating. I'm so sorry for you!

Of course, it could be worse... but that doesn't help, does it?

I'm hoping they can solve the problem quickly and that you're set free from this terrible pain. It is horrible that you have to wait for appointments when you're in so much pain.

Hugs, Sister. Hang in there. The next step is some doctor solving the problem and you getting better.

And thanks for the update.

Re: 4 mths post-op w/ vaginal tears

thank you sisters!! I got a copy of my medical records & have an appt with the new doctor tomorrow (Friday). I found it disturbing that it was noted in my records that I was NOT in pain & I was healing!!?? WOW, that was the complete opposite of everything that transpired!! I will send updates tomorrow on what the new Dr says! xoxo to all of you!

Re: 4 mths post-op w/ vaginal tears

6 months later update! -- well I had more surgery yesterday because my vaginal cuff did not heal properly, plus I had a lot of scar tissue that had to be removed. Also, the doctor said I had a fistula. there was a hole that went from my vaginal wall to my abdomen. I'm glad there was an explanation for my pain but bummed I even had a problem. Hope this fixes it!

Oh...what a challenging healing process you are experiencing.

Sounds like you are in good hands now. No wonder you've been in so much pain! You must be deeply relieved to have this additional surgery behind you...and now you can heal completely.

You are in my thoughts...
