4 Days Post Op

Hey Everyone,

I'm 4 days post op from my vaginal partial hysterectomy. (Sorry... I don't know all of the abbreviations yet) The surgery was done on 2/28 first thing in the AM. All went well except for that during the surgery some blood pooled in my rib cage causing a day of severe irritation in my ribs and diaphragm. It really hurt to breath. My OB kept me in the hospital a little longer to run some tests and make sure everything was ok. I went home late Wednesday night (I didn't want to spend another night) and by Thursday morning the pain in my ribs and the discomfort in my belly from the surgery were basically ALL gone. I've been following my Dr's orders and doing nothing. Resting, relaxing, gentle walking around the house and laying down. All of that "do nothing" stuff is really hard for me. I'm an on the go kind of person, but I know the longer I spend on the recoup, the easier it will be. Luckily, my boys (middle school and HS) and my husband have been wonderful, but I'm still really getting bored. I think I'm surprised that I have no pain or discomfort. I honestly thought it would be way worse. I do have some slight swelling which I'm hoping goes away in the next month or so. My abs were totally flat until the surgery, and honestly I miss them. The slight swell is messing with my head. LOL!!! Anyway, I just wanted to say thanks for all of the messages and the kind words from everyone in the last few days. Ya'll are wonderful!!! Hope everyone is doing well tonight!
