Tomorrow (March 5th) is the big day

Tomorrow is the big day, which makes today a very long day. Nerves are on end. This evening will shower, enema and than have to wash entire body with special antiseptic cloths the hospital gave me, i'm sure for my protection. Will leave in the morning at 5am, don't expect to sleep this evening. Just ready for this to be over.

Re: Tomorrow is the big day

Hugs to you. Mine is Tuesday and I am already not sleeping well. Oh well, maybe we can catch up on sleep afterwards

Re: Tomorrow is the big day

I am tomorrow as well. I have a 7:30 am surgery and need to start my bowel prep in 7 minutes. Waiting until the last possible moment for that to start
Good luck tomorrow. I agree with the sleep. My emotions are all over the place but I think it is unknown. I am a single 45 year old who has always been very independent. I don't like asking people for help (even though I tend to go overboard helping my friends) so this asking for help is going to be tough for me. I was thinking of writing a list of things people can do for me during their visits to help the asking for help be a bit easier.

Re: Tomorrow is the big day

One hint, I got before surgery: cut your foot nails ;-) its way more easy and comfy now than with swelly belly.

My LAVH is 6 1/2 weeks ago and I hope, your's will be as easy as mine.
Every pain I had before from all this annoying bleeding, cramps, clots & more stuff was worse than surgery.
I really enjoyed the anaestesia and had nice dreams.
Fingers crossed for a successful surgery and a speedy recovery.
And don't forget to pamper the princess for a few weeks.
Hugs :-*

Re: Tomorrow is the big day

My surgery is also tomorrow. I have to be at the hospital for 5:00.

I am told after I will have a wonderful life, however I am nervous.

I am using the same doctor who did my myomectomy and that went so easy. He gave me a local pain medicine and I never felt any pain post-op. he says we are using the same thing this time so I am not worried about pain at this point.

I hope things go well for both of you.

I am hungry and starting bowel prep-go figure.

Re: Tomorrow is the big day

Mine is tomorrow at 1pm. I'm guessing that it is perfectly normal for all of us to be a bit nervous about upcoming surgery. I mean, I think I would be a little worried about someone that wasn't a least a LITTLE nervous,..lol

Re: Tomorrow is the big day

My surgury is tomorrow as well... and my biggest fear is not waking up after the surgery. I have two daughters, 10 & 11, and all I can think about is not waking up!

Re: Tomorrow is the big day

Hi Sisters,

Wishing you all good luck tomorrow and we'll see you all on the other side.

I'm 12 weeks post op tomorrow and there have been good days / bad days but overall I made the right decision and already can see the difference in my life.

Remember to heal slowly, at your own speed, listen to your body and please don't overdo it. It's not a race to recover and you'll only heal the once.

See you all in the forums once you feel up to it.

Hugs

Mine is on Tuesday. Oh, I am nervous. To top it all off my period started today. Will they still do the surgery?

Anyway, good luck to ALL of us!
