skipped work today

My surgery is scheduled for tomorrow. I feel so apprehensive! It is stupid everything that I am worrying about. Now, I have a fear that they will call and post-pone. I don't think I could build myself back up to this point again. Ugh...my thoughts are just totally irrational. I wish I could flick a switch and just go into auto-pilot mode. I feel like hiding!

I remember when I first got on the board, I did not totally understand the range of feelings you go through when you actually have a date. Something crazy happens when you get that date...

Good Luck!

Re: skipped work today

I was a nervous wreck too the day before. It's prob good that you took the day off. Focus on things you want to have done when you get home..clean house, make your list, pack your bag... read the hints forum for ideas of what you may have forgotten for your Castle stay. Try and stay off the post op forum! It'll just make you nervous about things that may or may not apply to your situation. I seriously did not think I could make it through the 24 hours prior to my surgery, but focusing on the practical helped it pass more quickly. Almost two weeks out now and I feel great. No complications what so ever on my part. I cannot even believe how quickly the past 12 days have passed, and really how much better I feel than before the surgery. Good luck tomorrow!

Re: skipped work today

Hey Pnk,

Yes, there is something to be said about having that date. Makes it "really" real.

Good luck to you tomorrow, try to relax today. Take a nice long hot bath, tuck in early and know you are not alone.

Re: skipped work today

I am so scared it isn't funny! I just had the billing department call from the hospital. Gads! I haven't even had my surgery and they are worried about being paid. I have to pay my deductible plus 20%....

I keep telling myself..."Take deep Breathes..." (It is not working very well)

Re: skipped work today

The day before is the WORST. If you're extremely anxious, call your doctor. Mine gave me a sedative to take in the afternoon. Once you get to the hospital, it will be done with and you'll be feeling relieved before you even know it. Best wishes for a speedy recovery!!
