Surgery tomorrow (03/07)

I am scheduled to have Da Vinci surgery tomorrow to remove my uterus and cervix. Honestly, I dont know how I am feeling right now. There is a mixture of being nervous, wanting to cry, anxiety and nothing at all. I know that I have so much to do tonight to prepare for tomorrow but I just cant bring my self to do anything really. The one thing that I did do was start my bowel prep. I had about two months to prepare for this but its all hitting me now.

Re: Surgery tomorrow (03/07)

You know what you can do to prepare? Take a deep breath, then blow it out...repeat 3 times and then give yourself a hug. I'm sure your nerves are going crazy right now. I wish you all the best!!

Meet you on the other side after I have mine done next Tuesday!!

Re: Surgery tomorrow (03/07)

I'm having one tomorrow as well, DaVinci style. I'm pretty calm...maybe numb is a more accurate description. Hang in there sister. We can totally do this. I for one will NOT miss all the crap I've endured for far too long. I'll pray for you if you pray for me! Hell, I'll pray for you no matter what. Good luck. It'll be fine.

Re: Surgery tomorrow (03/07)

I'm sure I will be feeling the same way the night before my surgery. In fact, I'm sure I'll be a complete nutcase. Just pack pads and underwear, and some super loose garment to wear home, and forget the rest. Why don't they give any good anxiety drugs to take the night before, and frankly, the morning of?!

Thanks ladies!! @Lizardbrain, thanks for the prayer and I will definitely be praying for everyone as well. Anne2012, my doc was going to prescribe something for anxiety but told me to just take an ambien so that I can have a good night of rest.

Hey, I want that too! Great idea, I'll just take tylenol pm the night before. Blessings and good luck!

Re: Surgery tomorrow (03/07)

Hi, Star 1222
I did the same thing, I was in denial, then very petrified the last little while,
Today, I started moving , (laundry) etc.
Still so much to do.
I'm 'ok' if I don't think about 'it'.
Kind of excited, a bit nervous, Surgery is Thursday.
I expect to be a 'basket case' that morning.
Honest, will have to take a nerve tablet, for sure.

Re: Surgery tomorrow (03/07)

The day before my best friend and i went shopping and bought silly stuff. I took my bowel prep chilled in a martini glass, wore a festive hat and texted a picture to all my friends. Then I took ambien and went to sleep holding my boyfriend's hand and my poodles piled on the bed.

By the time the morning came I was ready to roll and get it over with. Hang in there and good luck tomorrow!

Re: Surgery tomorrow (03/07)

My surgery is in a week, March 13. To prepare, I have been writing in my journal multiple times a day... my fears and sadness and excitement. I write about my physical pain. That way I won't forget how intense my preop pain was due to the ovarian mass and endometrosis. I'm only 26 and I have one child and I my heart doesn't feel ready, but I don't have a choice. I'm just so blessed with my 1 yr old. I'm bringing lots of photos to the hospital and trying to make it a restful time if possible.
