Re: Finally have my date!!!!

Glad you finally have your date! As far as recovery goes, it varies greatly from one person to the next. What are your questions about post op? Do you mean in the hospital when you wake up or at home?

Re: Finally have my date!!!!

Dr said recovery in the hospital will go something like this... wake up with a cath but will come out as soon as I ask then he wants me up and moving some. Should go home the next day. I am more concerned with once I get home and things I ahould know or have on hand... stool softners, laxetives? I have read some of the other sisters recomend a pillow pet for the ride home and coughing, sneezing ect. anything else I should pick up to have at home to make recovery easier? Thanks sisters for youe advise

Re: Finally have my date!!!!

Yes you will wake with a cath. They removed mine the next morning as I was on too much morphine to walk to the bathroom. Some women wake win vaginal packing. I was supposed to stay in hospital one night but ended up staying for two. Yes you will need stool softener, gas x (the gas pains are bad), heating pad, pillow pet, a grabber thing for when you drop stuff. Scrub the house well now since you won't be able to do housework until you're cleared post op. Freeze foods that are simple to heat. I was surprised that even 4 weeks post op I had so much trouble making dinner.
