Re: Crying

I'm a cryer too. I had a total meltdown about a week prior to surgery. My poor hubby felt so bad for me but reassured me that I will still be a woman, still be sexy, still feel feminine, etc. Then I cried every day prior to surgery.

The morning of surgery, March 9, 2012, I did really well until they started to wheel me down the hallway when I burst into tears. The nurses stopped right in the middle of the hall, put meds into my IV and rubbed my arms. Within 30 seconds I calmed down.

I'm 5 days post op and for some reason, I still want to cry every day. Sounds like it's normal thank goodness!

20 days after laparospcipic hysterectomy

hang in there ladies!! I am feeling great! I believe this is due to listening and really resting a lot and not lifting and bending. I have been off pain meds for over a week now. So, just offering some encouragement!!

Re: Crying Pre-Op

It's okay to get emotional over this after all your periods have been with you most of your life. Feeling bad for your pain, but it should subside in a few days, I would think. Look forward to next month, and the money spent on monthly stuff go treat yourself to something pretty! HUGS!

Re: Crying Pre-Op

Thanks sissy you are so true!! I am gonna save the money I would spend monthly on monthly stuff so to speak and treat myself to something nice towards the end of the year The pain and the flood will be with me for the next three days as I will be going off the radar because I cannot function to do anything the first three days of my cycle then I will be back up and about. As I stated I am a short timer and kissing 36yrs of menses goodbye

Re: Crying Pre-Op

I did really great until I went to the hospital for pre-op labwork, then I bawled my eyes out. Same thing - I didn't know why! My friend suggested that the hospital smell made my mind realize that I really am a lil scared

Re: Crying Pre-Op

Ugh...I started bleeding last Friday night and I guess I am in the minority here when I say the 30th can't come soon enough. I will not miss the cramps, crime scene sheets, slaughterhouse under things, bloating and up all night misery. My bladder spazzes completely and my bowels go on the blink. I will not miss a thing! I have been doing this for for over 30 years and while my uterus was kind enough to support 5 healthy pregnancies it has been seeking it's revenge as of late. I believe it is just tired and me! My Dr describes it as "angry". Soooo ready to kiss it goodbye! Even more anxious to unlock the mystery of what exactly is going on in there to make it go so very wrong. Wish there was an easier way but apparently there is not... so I surrender!

Re: Crying Pre-Op

I wish both of you the very best. It will be such a relief to eventually put this all behind you. Will be thinking of you both daily. Hugs!

Re: Crying Pre-Op

I'm sure it is. I didn't but that's because my hormones were so off I basically *couldn't* cry. I was so nervous though, because it's SURGERY! I'm so glad I had it done, it was a miracle for me. I still praise God for delivering me out of the pit I was in. My back pain is gone, the bleeding is gone and I can cry again.
