Question for Seasoned Sisters

So I am wondering something. Prior to TAH/BSO I monitored cervical fluids for ovulation and cycles. So now I am wondering what my cervical fluids will be like after TAH/BSO. I had no bleeding after Surgery now 6 weeks post op.

Thoughts?

Experiences?

Re: Question for Seasoned Sisters

Puzzled question here but how did you "monitor cervical fluids"?

Re: Question for Seasoned Sisters

Fluids/discharge is different throughout a regular ovulation cycle. The difference in this discharge indicates ovulation and the best times in cycle to become or avoid pregnancy. I could not take birth control pills/rings or shots so had to use natural measures to avoid/achieve pregnancy for 16 years this has been our successful method for birth control. So now I'm wondering what post TAH/BSO discharge will be like??

Re: Question for Seasoned Sisters

The only fluids I had after surgery was just discharge for about one week. The doc will probably talk to you about the discharge. It was kind of like light spotting for probably the first few weeks. After that, no discharge because everything is gone so no periods or anything like that.

A Journey!!

Interesting...I did not know you could avoid/achieve pregnancy that way. I guess you learn something new everyday.

I did not have any bleeding after my surgery either. I have less daily discharge now as well. Don't get me wrong, it is still there, but much less. I don't know if this is true for everyone who has had TAH/BSO, but it is my experience.

Re: Question for Seasoned Sisters

Thanks. I guess I'm more aware of it since I monitored it closely before surgery.

Thanks for feedback.

Re: Question for Seasoned Sisters

I had a dVh/BSO 10/20. My normal daily discharge is significantly lighter than pre op. I stopped the icky post op stuff at about three weeks. Just another plus to the hyster story. I've noticed no change in my sexual lubrication either.
