Re: Question about cats and hysterectomy

What a good thread ! I am a cat lover too and have 11. Yes 11 and eight of them sleep with us though not on me. But this does make me think of protecting myself from play time but I wouldn't have it any other way matter of fact we are getting the youngest fixed and her and I will recup together. Go for my pre op visit next Friday

Re: Question about cats and hysterectomy

I am 8 days past surgery and I also have cats.

I have 4 of them and I too was concerned about them hopping on me or play fighting around me but they have been great. I spent the first week on the couch and had 3 of them sleep with me every night (and most of the days). Matter of fact the 3 are hanging out with me right now.The one I was really worried about, Pebbles, has been so good. She follows me around and stays with me and has not hopped on me at all. I have taken to calling them my portable heating pads because they seem lay in triangle formation around my abdominal area! I did have an older flatter pillow than I would put across me at night to protect me from any hops that might happen.
I moved back to sleeping in bed last night and they followed me to lay with me again.

Re: Question about cats and hysterectomy

I had been wondering the same. It is a great comfort to me to know that my 2 cats can sit with me post op. One of them in particular is very cuddly.
