uterine cancer

I had TVH Sept, recovering well when recalled to hospital at three weeks post op. Cancer found in uterus toal shock to me and consultant, more surgery Oct, tubes, ovaries, appendix, omentum and lymph nodes (all cancer free), started chemotherapy in Nov, 6 sessions over 18 weeks, 3rd session tomorrow. I'm doing o.k. except for the tiredness and being bald as an egg and menopausal. Did any one else have this shocking experience?

What an emotional roller coaster to be on! And second surgery is always harder. You poor kid!

I had a very mild variation. I was told post-op that the mass was benign. Then at two weeks, told it was cancer. but in my case it was an emotional deal rather than a medical one since they think the surgery caught it all. but I do know in a mild way that feeling of whiplash.

Others will be along who've been through the procedures but I wanted to give you a hug.

By the way, Patricia M. is a great name! ( that's me too)

What a shock that must have been for you, I'm so sorry to hear you had to go through all this. I can only imagine how difficult this must have been.

I didn't have the delayed diagnosis that you did, there was some initial confusion as to the stage of the cancer but that decision was made while I was still in the hospital. I did however go through a couple of rounds of chemotherapy.

I'm so glad to hear you're almost half way through the treatments, I'll tell you, at least during mine, after that half way point was reached, the time just seemed to fly by. Before I knew it I was done. I do hope you'll experience the same, I think a large part of it was knowing that I was that much closer to being done.

I hope the treatments, other than the tiredness, aren't too hard on you. The side effects can get pretty annoying at times but thankfully most of them seemed to disappear pretty quickly after completing the treatments.

My prayers are with you during your treatment tomorrow and I hope that the chemo is doing its job well.

How horrible for you. But at least all the other stuff they removed was negative for cancer--Whew!

Good luck on your 3rd chemo session tomorrow.

Sorry to hear about your problems. I am scheduled to have my uterus, ovaries, tubes and lympnodes removed in 2 days. They have found cancer in my uterus. Have any information that might help with pre-op? I have been told that I will probally have to have chemo, but no one mentioned lossing my hair. Again, hope your recovery goes will. Any information from your experience is helpful.

Hi Patricia,
So sorry to hear of the shock.
I think we all can relate to that feelng here in the cancer corner. I had stage 2b uterine cancer.grade 2. My surgery was in March 2001, and my form of torture was radiation. I hope your chemo sessions are going well and I will be sending lots of your way, along wth my prayers that all goes well.
Please keep us posted and let us know how you are doing when you can.

Hi Debby.......... I am sorry that you too have to go through this. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. The only pre-op advise that I would have is to stay VERY positive, and to think only good thoughts. Please let us know how you are doing when you can.
